Fannie and I had some time after the shore dive to the Gaskin, so we drove over to the Connie for a quick drift. Starting at the point we entered the water.
There’s quite a strong eddy current at the point and I was surprised at the speed I was pulled out from shore. We descended to the bottom and let the current take us to the wreck. An enjoyable drift. After 10 min Fannie was suggesting we should surface and check where we were, but I asked her for another minute. Within seconds the ghostly bow was in sight. The vis on this dive was pretty poor and most of the pictures I took reflect that. We started drifting along the starboard side to the prop.
We swam inside the body of the wreck to get out of the current. Passing the steeple engine.
We enjoyed all the wreckage there was to see.
We exited through the bow and called the dive. I love that drift. Perhaps I’ll start from the Wee Hak next time.
